BRIEF PRODUCT HISTORY
Wild blueberry producers
Case and Riek Van Dyk of Caledonia, Queens County, Nova Scotia
were searching for a way to add new value to a portion of their
annual wild blueberry crop. They decided to pursue the development
of a new and unique, pure fruit juice product, "wild blueberry
juice." The product needed to be of the highest quality and
retain an excellent wild blueberry taste. It also had to maintain
as much as possible through the bottling process, the wild blueberries
high antioxidant cancer fighting properties. The target market
for Van Dyk’s 100% Wild Blueberry Juice has always been
the consumer that appreciates the natural health benefits of consuming
wild blueberry juice. At Van Dyk's we spent over four years researching
and testing in the laboratory to get our product just right and
to ensure that you our customers are getting the very best highest
quality wild blueberry juice available anywhere!
PRODUCT SAFETY
Consumer food safety at
Van Dyk’s is our top priority and every step of our production
process is focused on producing quality safe products for our
customers. The production process has been inspected by the Canada
Food Inspection Agency. We use a ROPP Tamper-Evident cap to ensure
consumer safety. The product has an additional heat-sealed capsule
for tamper proof -safety. Each bottle is production batch coded,
and each production run receives a thorough microbial, chemical
and sensory analysis to ensure the highest safety standards possible.
As part of the safety process the juice is pasteurized. The product
is shelf-stable and has a shelf life of up to one year at room
temperature. Once opened, the juice needs to be refrigerated and
is good for approximately ten days.

PACKAGING CHANGES
Van Dyk's by Nature 100%
Pure Wild Blueberry Juice has made a number of changes in our
packaging over the past year. These changes were precipitated
by the fact that our suppliers were no longer offering our standard
473 ml bottle. The bottle we are now using is slightly different
in shape and the volume has increased from the old 473ml bottle
to a half litre (500 ml) size. We have moved to an ROPP twist
cap with a tamper-evident ring for a higher level of security.
We also hope consumers will find the new cap easier to remove.
The bottom line is that at Van Dyk's we are constantly striving
to improve our product for our customers. Van Dyk’s by Nature
100% Pure Wild Blueberry Juice is still the high quality fine
tasting product you are familiar with, now just in a slightly
different bottle.
