Many fruit juices on the market are made from low grade fruit which can not be used for any other purpose. The result is often a low quality inconsistent product, requiring additives or blending to be palatable. By choosing to make our juice from only the very best wild blueberries, we can be confident of providing our customers with delicious, high quality juice in every bottle. You can taste the difference. A UNIQUE PROCESSPretty much anyone can make juice from fruit and indeed many do. But it is the technique used at each step along the way that determines how much of the natural goodness of the original fruit is retained in the juice. Van Dyk's 100% Pure Wild Blueberry Juice is Unique among Juices. When we decided to bring a 100% pure Wild Blueberry Juice to the market we made a commitment to create a juicing process that would retain the powerful natural health properties of the fresh wild blueberries. To achieve this we partnered with the National Research Council, Agriculture and & Agri-Food Canada and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture. This four year research effort housed at the Atlantic Food & Horticulture Research Centre in Kentville, Nova Scotia, was instrumental in developing the science based proprietary process Van Dyk's now uses to produce our internationally acclaimed pure wild blueberry juice. Van Dyk's 100% Pure Wild Blueberry Juice is produced from a scientifically designed and tested process that ensures the health promoting bioactive components in fresh wild blueberries are maintained in the juice. COMMITMENT TO QUALITY AND SAFETYAt Van Dyk's, product safety and quality are our first priorities. PackagingOur pure 100% Wild Blueberry Juice is bottled in glass bottles as part of our commitment to safety. While there are many lighter weight, and less expensive alternative bottle materials, none have the safety profile of glass. Potential leaching of toxins from other materials such as certain plastics determine that they are unacceptable for our product. We continuously explore alternative bottling options to better serve our customers needs, but safety and quality will be the first tests for any new bottling formats we consider. As an added safety feature we seal our bottles with an ROPP twist cap that has a TAMPER–EVIDENT ring. Facility Standards and ProceduresOur dedicated juice production facility is certified Safe Quality Food (SQF 2000) by the Guelph Food Technology Institute (GFTI). The SQF certification encompasses and expands the existing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program that was in place at our facility. The SQF 2000 is an internationally recognized safety and quality control system. SQF and HACCP certification are not mandatory in Canada but are part of Van Dyk's ongoing commitment to safety and quality. When comparing health juices, ask if the processing facility is SQF & HACCP certified, these are strong indicators of commitment to safety and quality. |
