SCOTIA BLUEBERRYJUICE BEATS OUT INDUSTRY GIANTS FOR
"BEST IN WORLD" FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nova Scotia: Monday, November 14, 2005
-- Van Dyk's Health Juice Products Ltd. has just
been awarded the 2005 World Juice Innovation Award
for their 100% pure, not from concentrate Wild Blueberry
Juice. This prestigious award was announced at the
2005 International World Juice Congress, held in
Madrid Spain, as part of the 4th annual World Juice
Innovation Awards banquet.
Up against entries from
the world juice manufacturing giants including recognized
international brand names such as Minute Maid and
Tropicana, this family run Nova Scotia firm
came out the winner as their 100% Pure Wild Blueberry
Juice was declared the best new juice innovation
in the world. On Van Dyk's Pure Wild Blueberry
Juice the judges remarked: "Most blueberry juice
drinks contain a relatively small percentage of
juice and some added sugar, whereas Van Dyk's produce
a 100% juice with no additives. The result is a
great tasting, natural product packed with antioxidants
prized by health conscious consumers." "The winning
juice product combines genuine innovation with a
winning taste", the award jury stated.
Van Dyk's Health Juice
Products Ltd. is a thriving family run business
located in Caledonia, Queens County on Nova Scotia's
South Shore. Owner operator, Case van Dyk was not
content to be one of Nova Scotia's largest independent
wild blueberry producers so he and his wife Riek,
set out to produce a high quality pure health juice
product from Nova Scotia's Provincial Berry. The
result was a 100% pure, not from concentrate, wild
blueberry juice, which taste great and has hit the
market running.
Earlier this year Van
Dyk's Health Juice Products Ltd. also received the
Nova Scotia Business Inc.'s "Exporter of the Year"
award for the Canadian market, and now this Nova
Scotian product has captured the prestigious World
Juice Innovation Award. "I am proud and I am thrilled
with the news of this international award" said
Mr. van Dyk. "We wanted to produce a world class
product or nothing at all, and now we have tangible
proof that we have succeeded." "This is great news
for Van Dyk's Health Juice Products Ltd. and it
is great news for the wild blueberry industry in
Nova Scotia. By creating high quality value added
products here in rural Nova Scotia we are creating
home grown wealth and proving that Nova
Scotian products can compete successfully
on the world stage" said a smiling Mr. van Dyk.
Van Dyk's 100% Pure Wild Blueberry Juice is distributed
and marketed throughout Canada and expanded to the
Midwest US market earlier this year. "This international
award will have a significant positive impact on
our US expansion efforts and our entry into the
European Market," said Mr. van Dyk.
The success Van Dyk's
Health Juice Products Ltd. has had to date is in
part due to the tremendous support and guidance
received from several agencies as the business got
established. Mr. van Dyk stated "Agriculture & Agri-Food
Canada, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency,
the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Fisheries
and the National Research Council Industrial Research
Assistance Program have all contributed to our success.
These agencies have an important role to play in
helping small business flourish and grow from a
Nova Scotian base and we are very thankful for their
help."
World Juice 2005 brought
together over 300 decision-makers from the global
juice industry. Some of the companies represented
include Gerber Foods, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Ekes Granini,
Welch's Refresco, Migros, Danone, and Asda Walmart.
The Annual World Juice Innovation Awards began four
years ago with an award for Best New Juice Product
and one for Best New Process or Packaging Innovation.
